Weeks after government documents proved Michelle Obama "did not give birth," Malia Obama renounces her surname.😱
Amazing when the truth comes to light how fast things can unravel. 🙄
Malia Obama, the Obama family's "daughter," announced that she no longer wanted to go as Malia Obama while making her Hollywood debut.
Malia made her declaration a few weeks after it was discovered through official records that Michelle Obama was not a mother.
The first-born kid, now known as Malia Ann, had a subdued debut at the Sundance Film Festival this month with her first short film, The Heart.
The festival organizers revealed Malia Obama's decision to alter her name in a "Meet the Artist" video last month, which sparked a lot of industry conjecture about why she had decided to abandon the Obama last name.
Introducing her film as "an odd little story, somewhat of a fable, about a man grieving the death of his mother," the 25-year-old, now going as Malia Ann, made no mention of giving up her widely renowned surname in the movie.
Malia graduated from Harvard University in 2021, having first gained exposure to the entertainment world in 2017 while interning with movie mogul and sexual offender Harvey Weinstein.
Later, she contributed writing to the Amazon Prime Video television series "Swarm." However, some social media pundits have been adamant that her father's reputation helped her get a job in the business
Following their departure from the White House, former First Lady Michelle Obama and Barack Obama both entered the entertainment industry.
Their business, Higher Ground Productions, has created podcasts for Spotify as well as television shows and documentaries for Netflix.
Predictive programming has been leveled against the Obamas' projects. The former president won an Emmy Award in 2022 for "outstanding" narration for a television series that focused on national parks in the US. Remarkably, Obama skipped his daughter's Sundance red carpet debut in addition to refusing to personally take his medal.
The New York Times called Malia's film "The Heart," "a well-shot and spare debut," but most of the reviews on Letterboxd, a social networking site for movie buffs and reviewers, were unfavorable. "Honoring her father's legacy by dropping a giant bomb and not receiving any criticism for it," a caustic critic said, making reference to Barack Obama's contentious use of drone attacks while in office.
WOW. HOLY COW.... O O O OBAMA.....FROSTED FLAKES.....
