The US Military Is Monitoring an Unidentified High-Altitude Balloon ๐
Here we go again๐ Joe Biden is
A high-altitude balloon above the country's west is being tracked by the US military.
NORAD released a statement stating: "NORAD fighters intercepted the balloon over Utah and determined it was not maneuverable and did not pose a threat to national security." NORAD will keep an eye on and track the balloon.Additionally, the FAA found that there was no risk to flight safety from the balloon.
The balloon was spotted above Colorado earlier in the day and was apparently floating towards the eastern half of the nation on Friday.
The Pentagon dispatched planes to look into it.
According to CBS, American authorities and the military said on Friday that they are keeping an eye on a small, high-altitude balloon that is circling the nation but does not represent a danger to national security.
Earlier in the day, CBS News broke the story that the balloon was being tracked by the military as it traveled across the Western United States. Later, NORAD, the military organization in charge of air defense over the United States and Canada, acknowledged that it had found the object and reported that it was floating at a height of 43,000 to 45,000 feet. The existence of it aroused enough alarm that the leadership dispatched planes to look into it.
After intercepting the balloon above Utah, NORAD fighters concluded it posed no threat to national security since it was immobile. NORAD stated in a statement that it will keep tracking and keeping an eye on the balloon. "The FAA also found that there was no risk to the safety of flight."
By Friday night, the balloon should be above Georgia, a U.S. official told CBS News. The official said that a little cube-shaped box, roughly two feet long on each side, was dangling below the balloon, which looked to be made of Mylar. Its purpose and origins are still unclear.
The discoveries occur a year after a Chinese balloon with advanced eavesdropping technology soared above the continental United States for several days, sending tensions between the United States and China to all-time highs.
Now let me let you in on the behind the scenes to these balloons and how people are buying them to begin with.
Introducing Thunderhead Balloon ๐systemsโฆ.๐
These are actually really affordable for any military or spy militia operation.
In recent news, the Department of Defense has announced a new partnership with Raven Aerostar's Thunderhead Balloon Systems to develop advanced stratospheric capabilities. This collaboration aims to enhance situational awareness and provide real-time data to the military.
Meanwhile, Aerostar has been making waves in the world of stratospheric exploration.
Their Thunderhead Balloon Systems have been used for various applications, such as scientific research, wildfire management, and even expanding cellular networks. These high-altitude balloons can navigate by autonomously changing altitude to take advantage of wind currents in the atmosphere.
In a recent test flight, a Thunderhead Balloon System traveled over 48,000 miles across the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, validating its extended endurance and navigation capabilities. This groundbreaking achievement demonstrates the potential of these balloons for long-duration missions.
On the commercial side, Thunderhead Balloon Systems have been spotted in Hawaii and the Philippines, where they were used in military exercises.
These balloons have a wide range of applications, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions and acting as communications relays.
As we wrap up our report on Thunderhead Balloon Systems, one thing is clear: the sky's the limit for this innovative technology.
Good ol Balloons... I used to always get some at our local summer Sidewalk Bazaar.... Then we would POP EM....
