In a shocking and disturbing case, a high-ranking officer in the Ohio National Guard has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of rape involving a minor.
Steven M. Vicario, a lieutenant colonel in the Ohio National Guard and a mobilization officer at Joint Force headquarters, has been accused of raping a child.
The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred in October 2022 and November 2023.
Vicario, 39, was indicted by a Delaware County grand jury on April 18, 2024, and charged with three counts of rape and one count each of gross sexual imposition and tampering with evidence.
The gross sexual imposition charge is a fourth-degree felony, and the tampering with evidence charge is a third-degree felony. He was arrested on April 19 and is currently being held at the Delaware County jail.
During his arraignment in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas on April 24, 2024, Vicario pleaded not guilty to all charges. A judge set his bond at $500,000 and scheduled his trial for June 25, 2024.
This case has garnered significant attention due to Vicario's position in the Ohio National Guard.
Despite his high rank, he is now facing serious criminal charges that, if convicted, could result in severe penalties.
The allegations against him have sparked outrage and concern, with many expressing shock and disgust over the nature of the charges.
The case is still ongoing, and further details may emerge as the legal proceedings continue.
